Miyi County is one of the early-maturing loquat production areas in the whole country. Loquat cultivation is mainly distributed in the subtropical river valley terraces and mid-mountain areas at an altitude of 1,300-1,600 meters. In November 2017, "Miyi Loquat" was approved as a national geographical indication protected product by the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine of China. Data shows that the loquat cultivation area in Miyi County reaches 40,000 mu, with an annual output of approximately 22,000 tons and an output value of about 600 million yuan.
